Senior / Lead Project Control Engineer – Kuwait

Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking to recruit a competent Senior / Lead Project Control Engineer to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible to control, direct supervise, co – ordinate, monitor and guide the day to day activities of the estimating, planning and cost control and you will pay special regard to the control of costs and programme against the defined targets highlighting any potential problem areas.

Ensure clear definition of the project control requirements of his assigned project and to be fully familiar with the contract
Prepare, agree and issue the Project Controls Execution Plan in accordance with company procedures
Apply all project controls techniques as appropriate in accordance with the approved Project Controls Execution Plan
Manage and co-ordinate the Project Controls Team on his assigned project and to build the team effort into an effective and efficient unit
Ensure that the Project Controls Systems provide the best possible control tools for the supervisory staff on the project to allow them to control their work efficiently
Ensure that, at all times, the Project Controls Team is fully aware of the project targets, and the current status
Exceptions to plan, required remedial action, forecasts for recovery to the plan
Organize the regular progress review meetings in accordance with KNPC procedures
Ensure that the Project Manager and Construction Manager are aware of any potential major problems, and propose remedial action, i.e. to initiate an “Early Warning” system
Prepare, approve and issue all relevant project procedures for project controls, based on standard KNPC procedures
Support the Team Leaders in any other relevant areas, e.g. contractual matters, office administration, accommodation and computing needs
Ensure all project costs are allocated, recorded, analyzed, monitored, and controlled against project and company cost codes, and monitor, analyze, control, and report current and forecasted expenditures against approved budgets
Ensure that variations to the contract are carefully processed and analyzed in order to safeguard budget and programme integrity
Take part in any corporate matters required by the Divisional Director of project controls, with a view to disseminating experience and positive enhancements to the service throughout the company
To promote the image of project controls and KNPC / AMEC wherever possible
Establish and promote good working relations with his team, the project staff and KNPC
Read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the company and area Safety Management System documents

Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree required
Minimum of 15 years’ industrial experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role
Experience in PMC / EPC organizations in the field of refinery / petrochemical industries related to handling project cost, estimation, control planning and scheduling work of major projects with value not less than US$ 500 Million each
